The appearance of Zhuyeqing resembles bamboo leaves, being tight, straight, and flat with pointed ends. Its color is tender green with a glossy sheen. The tea liquor is bright yellow-green, emitting a fresh and fragrant aroma. The taste is strong and mellow, with a tender green and even leaf base. The picking standards are extremely strict, adhering to the three criteria of "high mountain, pre-Qingming Festival , and tea buds." Only fresh tea buds picked from tea gardens at an altitude of 600-1500 meters on Mount Emei before the Qingming Festival are selected, with an average of 1,000 tea buds required to produce just 1 gram of top-grade Zhuyeqing.
